Top Selling Tip Tools are Back!

It has been an absence of around 2 years, due to exchange rates and a change of supplier, but two of our all time best selling tip tools are back in stock at Billiards Boutique.

We don't need much of an excuse to celebrate but this is big news for you guys as you can once again purchase the Ultimate Tip Tool and the Original Brass Tip Pik from our online store.

The Tip Pik is available for £12.95 and the Ultimate Tip Tool can be bought for £16.95.

The Ultimate Tip Tool is a 5-in-1 cue tip tool used for shaping, scuffing and repairing damaged or glazed cue tips, the main benefit of this tool is that the abrasives are replaceable once worn out. They will be in stock as well.

Christmas Time!

We always try to hold off longer than most at Billiards Boutique when using the Christmas word, but it is well and truly upon us now.

Sales have been excellent over the last 6 weeks thanks to you guys but we just wanted to point out that delivery in time for Christmas is now getting a bit tight. Stock items should still be OK up until Monday 20th December but delivery of non-stock items (we can usually still deliver these in 2 days) will now be difficult to turnaround.

It is advised that if you want to make a purchase of pool cues or snooker cues that you do so as soon as possible. If the website is saying out of stock please contact us as soon as possible so we can give you an estimated delivery date on the item.

Peradon King Cues and Peradon Century 3/4 Cues are now sold out until 2011.

Brand New Cannon Range for 2010

Peradon have recently released a whole new range of Cannon cues for the 2011 season.

The range has in the past always been a budget line with decent quality materials and good design, however, this year is the first time they have added some genuine hand spliced snooker cues to the range.

All of the hand spliced models feature the extra advantage of the supplied 6" mini butt entension.

The models worth shouting about are

All of these models are available for purchase now, which is handy as we are at the busiest time of year with the lead up to Christmas already on.

There are also a few cues now featuring nice maple shafts rather than the standard ash.

If you want to know further details on any of the range then please give us a call (01305 822132) or drop us an email (sales @ billiardsboutique.com)

Daryl Peach: Sarajevo Open

Daryl Peach: Sarajevo Open: "Just got back from sarajevo Open event....one word.....EXCELLENT! The tournament was ran to perfection, and the hospitality was second to no..."

A few Minor Changes

A website is an ever evolving thing and since we changed to the new design earlier this year there have always been a few niggles. We have just spent some time today ironing out those problems.

You will not notice much on first impressions but the In Category descriptions are back, now sitting perfectly underneath the bread crumbs. This means that all of our articles have also miraculously reappeared!

Lastly, the Design a Custom Snooker Cue section is also back and fully working, ideal with the lead up to Christmas already underway.

If you spot any errors please do let us know.

Thanks for Your Patience

After a delayed honeymoon, we are now back in the office and fully raring to go at Billiards Boutique.

Thanks very much for your patience last week whilst we were away. Hopefully it did not cause you too much grief and inconvenience?

We are back in full swing now so feel free to place orders and our usual delivery times are back in operation, basically if you order something in stock you should receive it the next day.

Over the next few weeks a number of new products will be added with more cues from specialist brands in the US and snooker cues from the UK.

If you have a table at home or a small club we will be adding some great rates on cloth packs in a variety of colours.

Going Away

After two years of being married myself and my wife are finally going on a honeymoon this week!

Recently we downsized the business in order to cope with the turbulent financial climate, this has meant that for the first time there is no cover whilst we are away.

From 6pm on the 9th August until 4pm on 16th August we will not be able to accept calls or process any orders.

The website will still be able to accept orders but will not be processed until our return. If an item ordered happens to be out of stock then this will actually cause a further delay.

I hope that this does not cause too much inconvenience and I look forward to processing any orders on my return.

Snooker and Pool Table Lighting

Just spent some time this afternoon adding a brand new product line for Billiards Boutique. For the first time we are supplying snooker and pool table lighting with free delivery to mainland UK and Northern Ireland.

The prices start at only £109.00 for a 3 lamp set with brass bar so are very affordable for the home.

Things you need to consider when purchasing a lighting set for the home.

1. Your table size, 3 lamp lights are fine for English Pool Tables and American Pool Tables but will not offer enough light for a full size snooker table. If you are lucky enough to have a full size American Pool Table (9ft) or a Full Size Snooker Table (12ft) then it is best to go for a 4 lamp set as a minimum.

2. They will only accept bulbs of up to 60 watt due to the shades - with three lamps this should be sufficient for any pool room.

3. Style, most of the lighting we offer is very similar in design, you have a choice of colour or finish. Most of these lighting sets are made from brass or chrome, so please consider this before buying.

An Offer of Great Value

Thanks very much for bearing with us throughout June whilst we made some dramatic changes to the Billiards Boutique website. Those are now almost complete but we still have a few tweaks here and there to make.

I meant to post this earlier but we are running an offer throughout July. If you spend £50.00 or more in one transaction then you will get 10% off applied in the checkout process.

The offer applies until midnight July 31st so get in now!

If you call and place an order this offer still applies and even on Pool Tables so now would be a very good time to purchase.

As a note there is still some delays on certain Peradon cues as they try to cope with the massive demand they have had over the last 8 months, the best bet is to call or email for further details on any of the Peradon cues.

England's Woeful World Cup Display

So what of this 'Golden Era' of English footballing talent? Well, for one they were completely outclassed yesterday by a much better organised and exciting German side.

So many times we fall foul of the German's but yesterdays performance ended up being our worst ever World Cup finals defeat.

I, like many, was touting the chances of England to lift the World Cup before the tournament began, we had cruised through qualifying and the players looked capable of playing for their country as they do week-in-week-out for their clubs. Come tournament time though we looked an absolute shambles, no width, no fight, no desire and certainly no creativity. Please do not even mention the defensive performances!

If there was unrest and disharmony in the squad caused by Fabio's tactical decisions or playing certain players in unfavoured positions then my opinion would be that they never play for their country again. Whoever is the coach should have the full backing of the players at all times - even if they disagree. Why is it England are seemingly producing a bunch of overpaid and underperforming primadonna's?

I think this generation of English 'talent' has had its day, what I would like to see as a stoic England fan is an English manager in charge that can show the players some real passion. Second on my list would be to start afresh, bin the 30 somethings and start with some fresh blood that may well relish the opportunity of pulling on that national shirt.

Anyway thats my bit out of the way, have your comments below.

To numb the pain Billiards Boutique are running two offers until July 31st 2010.

1. Receive 10% Off when spending £50.00 or more
2. A newsletter only offer that gives you 10% off but no minimum spend.

Visit Billiards Boutique now.

Do Not Use Worldpay!

Until further notice please do not use the RBSWorldpay payment processing system on Billiards Boutique.

We are changing the integration so it is currently running in 'test mode' - any order placed with the system will actually not take any money.

This should only be for a couple of days whilst it is tested by the Worldpay techies.

Why is it still live then? I hear you ask. Simply because in order to test it Worldpay have to still be able to access the system as if purchasing normally

Poison Anthrax Range Added to the Lineup

We are continuing with our additions to the American Pool cue range that we offer, this week will see ranges from Poison and Predator Pool Cues added to the store.

Poison are owned and manufcatured by Predator products and the Anthrax range has been added this morning. Find it here: Poison Anthrax American Pool Cues.

We were one of the first stores to originally stock Predator products back in 2005, however, due to the way in which Predator structured their distribution it became price prohibitive to do so for our customers.

This has not changed but it was felt necessary to add the cues again simply through customer demand. The Predator and Poison ranges will be available on an order-by-order basis meaning delivery within 2-10 working days in the UK.

The Poison Anthrax Pool Cue range starts at £259 and finishes at £345, all of the cues come with the Venom Double-D Technology maple shaft and the exclusive Sarin layered leather cue tip.

4 Reasons You Need a Tip Tool in Your Cue Case

A cue tip tool is an important piece of your pool or snooker armoury. These four reasons below explain why they could be important.

1. Glazed or hardened cue tips. As a tip gets older the top layer of it can become glazed (shiny) and hardened, having a tip tool in your cue case can enable you to loosen up the cue tips fibres. By loosening the fibres it means the tip will hold chalk more evenly and help to eliminate miscues.

2. Miscues. From time-to-time even the best of us Mis-cue the odd shot. This can be caused by either bad cueing or a bad tip. If caused by bad cueing it is likely that the tip will have slight damage. A cue tip tool or file will allow you to repair the tip on the fly without the need for replacement.

3. Mushrooming. Tips can mushroom with extended use, this means the contact area of the tip flattens out and overhangs the ferrule. The right tip tool can trim this overhang and return the tip back to prime condition.

4. Confidence. Having a tip tool in your case can bring you additional confidence. Especially if you know you have used it before a match. You know that your cue tip is in the best possible state and if anything happens during a match you can make the neccesary repairs quickly.

What are Your Thoughts?

Well it was announced last week that Barry Hearn (& Matchroom Sport) have been handed 51% control of World Snooker after players voted in favour of his plans.

Personally if you look at the success of the PDC darts circuit I don't think snooker could be in better hands. Already a further 13 tournaments have been announced for next season giving far more opportunities for players to participate.

What are your thoughts? Anyone?

SAM KSteel2 American Pool Tables

It is going to be a regular occurrence over the coming weeks and months to see BilliardsBoutique.com populated with new products.

The latest batch of pool tables to be made available are the fantastic new SAM KSteel2 American Pool Tables.

These tables are built on the reputation of the old SAM KSteel, a table which is found in a lot of pool and snooker clubs in the UK.

What has made these tables so popular in the past is the steel frame, unlike wooden or mdf frames these tables do not breakdown, buckle or twist over time. They provide a solid foundation that gives the pool table a feel much akin to a steel block snooker table in terms of its responsiveness.

This new model is available in 7 different finishes and retails for £4895.00 a price that includes delivery and installation to most parts of mainland UK on a ground floor installation.

Finishes available:

Our particular favourite here at BB Towers is the Borneo finish, just waiting for the wife to let me have one!

If you are in the market for a full size American Pool Table then please get in touch, we would love to help you with your purchase.

Orca Cues added to our lineup

Orca American Pool Cues are the latest additions to our product catalogue, although not a wholly new product on the market it is the first time that Billiards Boutique have made them available in the on-line catalogue.

The name Orca comes from the shortened Latin name for the Killer Whale (Orcinus Orca) the largest species of the oceanic dolphin family.

These cues are all quality controlled and use selected Canadian hard rock maple shafts. The shafts are topped with a high impact composite ferrules and a 13mm Laperti cue tip.

The cues are designed for the intermediate player and have a professional taper synonymous with American Pool Cues.

There are five different models in the range and each one has a variation on the black lacquered butt with white arrow-like decals.

They are priced at a very affordable £55 including delivery to England, Wales and some parts of Scotland.

If you require any more information then please just drop us an email.
